The Ingersoll Rand E10073 compressor motor is a common choice for various compressor applications due to its reliability and efficiency. However, like any other electrical component, it has its advantages and disadvantages. Here are some pros and cons to consider before making a purchase.
Pros:1. Energy Efficiency: The Ingersoll Rand E10073 compressor motor is designed to be energy efficient, which translates to lower electricity bills and reduced carbon footprint. It uses a permanent split capacitor (PSC) design, which is known for optimal efficiency in single-phase compressor applications.
2. Durability: Ingersoll Rand is a reputable brand known for manufacturing reliable and robust electrical components. The E10073 compressor motor is built to last and can handle the demands of heavy-duty compressor applications.
3. Easy Installation: The Ingersoll Rand E10073 compressor motor is relatively easy to install, as it is a standard replacement motor for many compressor models. It has a compact design, making it a suitable fit for most compressor housings.
Cons:1. Cost: Compared to other compressor motor brands, the Ingersoll Rand E10073 compressor motor may be more expensive. However, its reliability and energy efficiency can offset the upfront cost over time.
2. Lack of Variable Speed Option: The Ingersoll Rand E10073 compressor motor is not a variable speed motor. While this may not be a significant issue for some applications, it may limit the motor's versatility in others, forcing the user to switch between different motors for varying compressor demands.
3. Limited Availability: The Ingersoll Rand E10073 compressor motor may not be readily available in all regions or distribution channels, which could result in longer lead times for replacement parts.
Conclusion:The Ingersoll Rand E10073 compressor motor offers several advantages, including energy efficiency, reliability, and ease of installation. However, it may be more expensive than some other compressor motors and lacks the versatility of a variable speed motor. To determine if this motor is a suitable investment for your specific application, consider the costs associated with energy usage, downtime, and the availability of replacement parts. Ultimately, if energy efficiency, durability, and reliability are top priorities, the Ingersoll Rand E10073 compressor motor may prove to be a worthwhile investment.
Big end bearing looks like it got hot, the axle does roll smoothly despite this. I'm unable to test this motor fully due its size and draw, so selling as is for parts. The motor has been partially reassembled for shipping, all parts that go to the appear be there and are packaged accordingly. Partially dissembled the motor and inspected it the case coils show no sign of burning or shorting.
Partially dissembled the motor and inspected it: governor switch has a broken contact, which I suspect is main source of failure. The damaged part is in the photos. A compressor motor that's for parts or rebuild.
